We had a quick dinner, and then made our way out for the night - a place called Karlovy Lazne which is a five story club: each level of the club had a different theme and music! There was a dance level, an "oldies" level, R&B, oxygen bar, and.... my personal favourite... The Ice Bar!!!!! This bar was completely made of ice - the glasses were made of ice, the tables, the chairs, even the DJ was made of ice! It was a frosty -8 degrees Celsius, and we all were given coats and gloves to wear while we were in there! We were only allowed to stay for 20 minutes at a time, but it was so much fun!!!
The night didn't end until about 4:30am, so we were glad to have a sleep in the following day, and also spend the morning doing some much needed laundry at the hostel. After a leisurely morning, we caught the train in to the city centre and went to the Prague markets - it was fun to look at all the different leather, wood, and glass craft that this country produces. Prague is famous for its marionettes, so there were lots of cute and crazy puppets in the market stalls.
We also went to visit the Sex Machine Museum: a history of different interesting artefacts and stories. It was pretty funny, but also quite interesting to see that even years and years into history people have had a fascination with sexual passions and coming to know their body. I have to say - a lot of the "devices" looked more like instruments of torture rather than pleasure hahaha. Anyway, an interesting visit. See if you can guess what is pictured:
After spending the afternoon in the city we walked to a medieval restaurant - it was underground (almost like being in a cave) and everything was lit by candles. They had pirates and dancers and fire eaters for our entertainment, and the ceiling was decorated with human skulls (though not real ones). It was an interesting place, though apparently air conditioning wasn't invented yet, so it was a bit hot (coca cola, however, was apparently around in medieval times??!)
Michael went for a swim when we got back, and I had a shower to wash my feet - my Haviana thongs broke just before dinner, so I walked the streets of Prague with only one shoe. The bottom of my foot was black as death itself when I returned from dinner!!! A good nights sleep was in order, and after Prague we head off to Berlin. Dekuji and na shledanou, Prague!
