Wow - what a start! After a "short" flight to Singapore we had 7 hours to explore the beautiful butterfly garden and visit the koi ponds! I loved looking at the huge koi, and Michael liked Singapore Airlines. They even surprised us with champagne and a 'congratulations' cake whilst on the flight. We shared the cake with other occupants near us, and a lovely German man (well, I think he was German but Michael thinks he wasn't) wished us 'happy days every daiy for ever'. We even won some 'changi' prizes before we left.
A couple of Singapore Slings before we departed for Zurich. Now THAT was a long flight - but luckily I slept for most of it. This was a Swiss flight, and every now and then they would give out Swiss chocolates: heavenly! Once in Zurich it was a short stay and then on to London where we had a live string quartet playing whilst waiting for our next flight.
We have our little friend the gnome (currently not named as we want to make sure we pick something good) with us on our trip. The gnome used to belong to an elderly lady who has now passed away, and we are taking him on some travels in her honour - The idea is that you take pics of the little guy having fun around the world and then post them on the "Nan's Gnomies" Facebook group! Here he is with a couple of lads in London! Let us know if you have any name ideas for him.
We just touched down in Belfast (FINALLY - so glad to leave the airport) and we are just thinking about taking a walk down the road to find somewhere for dinner.
Ciao for now! Bonnie & Michael. xo
TripTip#1: Don't piss off people holding guns.

The cake looks beautiful. I'm glad you slept well on the plane, Bonnie. Well, one of the flights. John likes the royal koi, too. I'm sure they were more regal in real life. The gnome should probably have a gender non-specific name as lady gnomes have beards as well? A walk down the road and somewhere for dinner sounds good. Basil is sitting on my lap. They stayed inside all day yesterday. It was rainy and cold when I left. So today they made sure they both raced out before I left. Thanks for the photos.
ReplyDeleteVery Amelie inspired that gnome idea. I'll have a ponder on names but so far:
ReplyDeleteAduke- means much loved
Chiyo - means eternal
I'm jelly of your travels.
